No
other part of the body gets more strain throughout one’s life than the foot,
and finding a shoe that supports the feet can be a challenge. However, this
changed when I got my first pair of Birkenstocks.
One
may wonder what makes the Birkenstock so special. Birkenstock sandals have many
features that make them unique from other shoes. Birkenstocks are
orthopedically designed and constructed to offer comfort that exceeds that of
their competition. As they use natural cork for the base, these sandals
accommodate the shape of one’s feet and create a custom fit. Furthermore, the
soft footbed gives an extra layer of cushioning to provide additional support.
Not only is the base comfortable, but it is incredibly easy to clean.
Birkenstocks
are also stylish. They come in a variety of colours that are appropriate for
both casual and formal occasions, and are very versatile.
While
Birkenstocks have many advantages, they come with some cons. Sandals are rather
expensive, starting at $99.99. Also, only certain stores carry this type
Birkenstocks. This means that it can be hard to get a pair that one likes, and
the size to fit. Even ordering the sandal online can be difficult, as it is a
trying on the shoe is the only way that one can be sure that they have the
appropriate fit. Another issue is the potential for water damage, as the cork
that the sandal is made of can absorb water and crack, with no way to fix it.
This is a factor to consider before investing so much money in a product.
In
conclusion, I love the Birkenstocks for multiple reasons. They are so
comfortable that I can walk in them all day long with no complaints. I can put
them on with casual shorts and skirts, or wear them to work. The price, sizing
process, and sensitivity to water may be cause for concern for the average
buyer. Yet, I do not find that these factors take away from the high quality of
Birkenstocks. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a
comfortable shoe with support. You won’t regret it!
